Media Rules! - at 12pm on the Day Stage
I will be speaking from my book, Media Rules!, at 12pm on the Adobe Day Stage.
Why should you attend this reading over all other readings? Why should you come hear some author speak, instead of another panel?
Well, the premise of the book is that when it comes to communicating with an ever-evolving audience, today’s organization has more than enough tools to get the job done — blogs, podcasts, social networks, search, advertising — and much more. Yet the combination of rapid technological innovation and continuous social shifts have left many organizations, from the largest corporation to the smallest nonprofit, struggling to stay focused and execute their ideas.
What does that mean to you? The world is changing… we all know that. More importantly, however, as the world is changing, organizations have to change the way they communicate. And yet so many haven’t changed - or haven’t changed enough.
Why not? Most organizations seem to think that technology is the solution. It’s not. There is no tool, no piece of technology, no line of code that on its own can solve your marketing or communications challenge. Instead, its about what I call the little ‘m’ media — the information, the experiences, and stuff that you create, consume, and share. If you produce relevant, timely and compelling information, offer engaging experiences, or promote high-quality stuff (and the support and service to help people use it), you’ll be successful, the rest will fall into place.
I’ll use the talk about the book (12pm on the Adobe Day Stage) to expand on these thoughts, and read a few really interesting passages from the book. I hope you can make it. And if you can’t, feel free to buy the book and/or contact me directly to talk some more.
See you at noon!
